are from the 1863 Glasgow Post Office Directory and quite clearly show
that
there was a Donald AND a John Dove, both involved in the basket trade in one
way
or another, so they may have been related although no research had been
carried out
to either prove or disprove this.
As can be seen in the
above listing from the 1876/87 Post Office Directory,
it appears that father
and son, John Dove Senior and Junior included into their wares
‘Perambulators’

married Ann (or Annie) Scaling c1865 and by 1881 were living
at Rosslyn

Glasgow Post Office Directory, one or more members of the Dove Family
placed adverts of one kind or another, but prior to 1883, most of them had been half
or quarter pages consisting mainly of text but from 1883 onwards,

(or prams to most people) seem to play a large part of their business
as the
ad’s now went to full page size.
